Chicano Gala San Bernardino 2026

A historic night for the City of San Bernardino. The Gala this year focused on bringing attention to the downtown art district in San Bernardino. The location was Sole Alley x The Breezeway, located in downtown San Bernardino near 426 W. Court Street and connecting through the local alley/walkway areas near Court Street and 4th Street. Guests arrived in their best glam looks, serving history, roots, attitude and beauty in what makes the Chicano community special. This is the evidence that the community can come together, not only to celebrate but also make a difference for future programs in the future that is all about reinvesting in the arts, financial education and mental wellness. History of Sole Alley "Alejandro Gutierrez with Arts Connection who facilitated the art portion of the grant, helping give opportunities to local artists such as Brenda Angel and Duan Kellum who designed and painted two beautiful murals. Jay Mccrary with Creative Grounds who designed the typography of the classic neon sign that adorns the entrance to Sole Alley and gives ode to Route 66. Sole Alley existed in a dilapidated state for several decades before a Clean California Grant helped to revitalize it into the beautiful space it is today. This alley was created only as an afterthought, shaped by the buildings that were developed around it. The buildings around Sole Alley were erected from the early 1900s to the 1950s creating a unique “L-shaped” space." County of LA - World Cup Watch Party

In June 2026, the County of Los Angeles invited the Chicano Elegance Foundation to participate in a fashion installation during a watch party for the World Cup. It was our pleasure to transform Soccer Jerseys provided by Charlys, into dresses and other glamorous looks that give a new spin to the sports gear. This year we saw a more inclusive World Cup. The community of young, elder, male, female and non binary joined in several different activities, parties and installations to share the love of the game. It was a year of growth, beauty and the Chicano Elegance Foundation was honored to be part of this historic moment.
